Meet Dr. Enrique Jinete
Who would have thought that a sport driven injury for a college athlete would lead to a life-long dedication to service? Even though Enrique was surrounded by healthcare professionals at an early age, it wasn’t until he suffered a personal injury of his own that his passion to help others really sparked.
After undergoing surgery for a knee injury while playing soccer at St. John’s University, he was inspired and impressed by the results he experienced during physical therapy. He describes the memory as “life changing” and it was then that he knew he wanted to pursue a life of service helping others in need.
Enrique is the founder of Healing Therapeutics, which he has grown to several locations throughout the tri-state area. Enrique and his team of therapists provide treatment, education, and support to a large population of patients that include children in the Early Intervention program, clients at home and those in the Spanish speaking population who appreciate his bilingual ability.
It is through this network of therapeutic work that Enrique began to see how our government was too often an obstacle to delivering the services that our community needs and none of our elected officials had an interest in making improvements.
As a member of the White Plains Common Council, he will be a dedicated advocate for greater public awareness of physical therapy as a form of wellness and preventive medicine to help counteract the growing rates of illnesses, such as heart disease and diabetes.
